Billionaire entertainment industry power player and Clinton pal Haim Saban is probably still getting over the sting of being unable to completely manipulate The New Yorker's profile of him. Perhaps he will buy Newsweek, as a consolation prize.

Saban tells the WSJ that he was interested in buying the magazine two years ago, and now that it's spent two years proving that it can't make any money, he's taking a "serious look." He joins Reuters, Allbritton, and the Jon Meacham fan club as rumored interested buyers. Newsweek's bankers say 70 parties are "potentially interested," though the number of those that realistically could or would follow through is surely much, much lower.

In any case, Haim Saban just bought back the Power Rangers, so he's fine either way.
