The 2008 Hillary Clinton campaign will never retire its debt. Now, with several hundred thousand dollars remaining, donor prizes like "Win Dinner with Bill Clinton" have been downgraded to "Hey, wanna buy a Hillary DVD for $35?"

The Clintons spent $11.4 million of their own money during the campaign, and ended with nearly $10 million in debt to vendors. The campaign debt is now down to $771,000. At what point does Bill Clinton, who makes about $10 million per year, just cut a check for convenience's sake? Who else has money to give to a 2008 presidential campaign at this point? Someone, anyone, please! (via The Hill):

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign has turned to DVDs to help retire its debt from the 2008 presidential race.

Her campaign circulated a fundraising e-mail on Tuesday saying that donors who contribute $35 or more to retire the "last bit" of the debt will receive a DVD of the former first lady's "historic" speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

"If you missed the first opportunity to buy a DVD of her speech, you are in luck. We have a few of our special edition 2008 National Democratic Convention DVDs left, and we wanted to share them with you," the letter says.

Well, what are you waiting for? The next fundraising wave's only going to offer limited-edition cow chips or something, so now's the time to support Madam Secretary.
