Ann Moore is out as CEO of Time Inc., the New York Times' David Carr reports, and will be replaced by Meredith Corp. exec Jack Griffin, another traditional magazine executive.

The move is to be announced Monday, Carr writes.

Griffin oversaw titles like Better Homes and Gardens and Family Circle before announcing his departure from Meredith two days ago to a destination unknown. Carr quotes a co-worker saying Griffin is "not a traditional thinker" while acknowledging his background is fairly conventional — not someone who is looking to, say, remake Time Inc. around Web publishing, for example. His track record does indicate he'll be able to help the company cope with the erosion in print advertising, at least. And Moore's already taken care of several hundred layoffs for him.
