Apparently, a bunch of the activists opposing the Park51 community center—you know, the "Ground Zero Mosque" that's neither at Ground Zero nor a mosque—are planning on holding an anti-"mosque" rally on 9/11. How appropriate of them!

According to Politico's Maggie Haberman, blogger Pam Gellert—one of the driving forces behind the anti-"Ground Zero Mosque" sentiment—has organized a rally to be held on September 11 of this year near the site of the proposed community center. Mustachioed former UN ambassador John Bolton and conservative publisher Andrew Breitbart will contribute videotaped messages, while rabid Dutch anti-Muslim politician Geert Wilders and Clarence Thomas' wife Ginny will speak. It's an all-star gathering!

While Haberman seems skeptical, I know that I, for one, can't wait to hear stirring speeches about the hallowed ground of Lower Manhattan and the sacred memories of the people who lost their lives in the Twin Towers. I'm also excited to learn about the ways the mosque will dishonor the victims of World Trade Center attack, and cheapen our remembrances of the fallen. In particular, I hope to hear more about the callous insensitivity of building a mosque so close to the site of such great tragedy, and the oblivious thoughtlessness of its planners and developers, who clearly don't understand the sanctity of the area, or the importance of the attacks. And I think the best way to hear all of this stuff is at a rally held on 9/11 in lower Manhattan.
