Ex-Soldier Seeking Psych Help Takes Hostages
In a drastic (but effective?) attempt to prove he needed psychiatric help, a former Army soldier took three hostages at a military hospital in Georgia this morning to demand "treatment for behavioral problems."
An Army spokesman told the AP that no one was hurt during the standoff at Fort Stewart's Winn Army Community Hospital. He said the man was carrying four guns when he entered the hospital's third floor around 4 a.m. this morning, but that one of the hostages—a nurse—supposedly helped police talk him into a peaceful surrender.
The suspect's name hasn't been released, but we're hoping that whoever he is, the Army agrees he's made his point.
