The Return of Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers
BOOM! Studios has followed up on their insanely good Darkwing Duck comic book series with another old school Disney Afternoon favorite. In celebration of such a release here's a favorite Rescue Rangers episode from 1989.
BOOM! Studios is bringing the geeky side of Disney back to the forefront with the return of the Rescue Rangers and their successful ongoing run of Darkwing Duck. With titles like "The Muppet Show" and Philip K. Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep," this studio is opening a new niche for comic lovers. It may be impossible to fund a return to television for new-vintage Disney fare without risk of hideously bastardizing the original product, but whoever decided to really start using comics for the "If Only..." set, nailed a niche right on the head. There are a lot of us out there wanting to make malleable the original media that shaped us, and BOOM! is a shining example that this can be done, and it can be done well.
It's like—a cartoon like the following PROBABLY wouldn't appeal to today's youth, but then again this episode is basically a slightly askew parallel to the South Park episode about Scientology. Judge for yourself.
