China Tests New Stealth Fighter as Defense Secretary Visits
Click to viewSecretary of Defense Robert Gates is in China this week to cool military tensions, and to tell Chinese officials that the U.S. military is still king. And today, China tested its new stealth fighter jet. It's just a coincidence, though!
Speaking to reporters after the 15-minute test flight of the J-20 stealth fighter, Gates said, "I asked President Hu about it directly, and he said that the test had absolutely nothing to do with my visit and had been a pre-planned test. And that's where we left it." In all fairness, there's not much else Gates can really say in public to that.
The video above, of the J-20's maiden flight, was posted to a Chinese website today. And in other news, the theatrical release date of the Red Dawn remake remains a mystery.
