Following Louisiana's lead, last week Florida slapped an emergency ban on synthetic drugs that are marketed as "bath salts" because people are losing their minds after snorting and smoking "Vanilla Sky," "White Lightning," and "Ivory Snow." The state's attorney general was pushed to ban the "drug" after some people flipped out, according to NPR:

"In Panama City, Fla., two incidents alerted authorities to the drug's serious effects. In one case, several officers were needed to subdue a man who tore a radar unit out of a police car, with his teeth.

In another incident, police say a woman attacked her mother with a machete, thinking she was a monster."

Anti-fun crusader Senator Chuck Schumer has his eye on a bill that would ban certain bath salts across the country. But here's a thought for all of you synthetic drug junkies out there: You're getting ripped the fuck off. According to NPR's report, the bath salts mentioned above sell for around $25 to $30 for a half gram (!!!). And by Runnin' Scared's math, $30 will get you just over a full gram of real (though probably well-cut) cocaine in New York. Not advocating here — just a thought.
