Creepy Rich Koch Brothers Helped Push Anti-Union Bill
How surprising, to learn that the multimillionaire conservative activist brothers Charles and David Koch had a hand in Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's (absurdly goofy face pictured above) push to strip public sector unions of their collective bargaining rights!
Yes, The New York Times reports that the Koch brothers' $40 million nonprofit, Americans for Prosperity, "had worked behind the scenes to try to encourage a union showdown" before Walker was even elected. (Oh, and also, Koch Industries "was one of the biggest contributors to [Walker's] election campaign.")
But, obviously, this has nothing to do with rich business owners attempting to reduce the power of organized labor! No, it's about—in the words of Americans for Prosperity president Tim Phillips—"bring[ing] fiscal sanity back to this great nation." And why not bring back child labor and the seven day workweek, while we're at it? There's nothing fiscally sane about leaving healthy 12-year-olds unexploited.
