NYT Staffers Captured in Libya Will Be Freed Today
The four New York Times staffers who went missing in Libya earlier this week—reporters Anthony Shadid and Stephen Farrell, and photographers Tyler Hicks and Lynsey Addario—are reportedly going to be released today. Muammar Qaddafi's son Saif told Christiane Amanpour that the four were picked up by the Libyan Army:
You know, they entered country illegally and when the army, when they liberated the city of Ajdabiyah from the terrorists and they found [Addario] there and they arrest her because you know foreigners in this place. But then they were happy because they found out she is American, not European. And thanks to that she will be free tomorrow.
All four will be freed today, according to the US State Department. Qaddafi and his sons are still assholes.
