Preschool America has truly gone to seed. Just days after a spate of drunken toddler sightings, a six-year-old Houston boy brought a loaded gun to his school cafeteria. It gets worse: The gun discharged when he dropped it, injuring himself and two other students.

The good news is that the wounds are relatively minor and their conditions are stable. But the questions still remains: How did the boy get his hands on this gun, and what was he doing carrying it around Ross Elementary School? This is precisely the kind of situation Jan Brewer wanted to avoid when she vetoed that sloppily written Guns on Campus bill!

Texas Child Protective Services are currently investigating the parents, who no doubt are wracking their brains over how their shoebox-on-the-top-shelf security precautions possibly could have failed. [Chron.com, photo via Shutterstock]
