No longer will summer blockbuster enthusiasts across America have to spend the dog days sitting through such dreck as Pirates of the Caribbean 4, Transformers 3, and that thing where Kevin James talks to a lion. At least those within the vicinity of an AMC Theatres, that is, because the chain has sealed distribution rights for The Undefeated, the Sarah Palin-commissioned documentary about how Katie Couric and some bloggers are mean. Finally, a summer movie for grown-ups! Can't you just feel the grift?

The film, which has gotten mixed reviews from early screeners who are mostly conservative bloggers, will make an initial run at AMC Theatres in Dallas, Denver, Oklahoma City, Orlando, Atlanta, Orange County, Phoenix, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, and others before expanding wider, if it's bringing in the crowds.

The film's production company, Victory Film Group, is clearly in celebration mode after grifting into this large pool of cash: "The documentary is made to be seen on a big screen. With its story of a small-town girl who, against all odds, rises to the pinnacles of American government, the film plays with all the drama of a 'Rocky' picture, only with a woman as the central figure and with politics instead of boxing."

Hear that? It's Rocky, except with a lady, and politics, and mean bloggers, and John McCain, and mountains, and Piper, and bears, and set in the 2000s, in Outer Space. But otherwise, yeah, think Rocky.
