Hot air balloons are pretty, right? Well, what if they have a man hanging from the basket suspended by only two hooks placed in his back? Not so cute now, huh?

Zane Whitmore of Seattle was suspended by hooks through the four piercings in his shoulder blades and dangled from the bottom of a hot air balloon for 75 minutes while it flew over California's Long Valley Caldera.

This whole thing is gross and scary and gave me phantom pains in my back. But then again, it's probably the closest you're ever going to get to flying in the air today, which is pretty cool. But what if the piercings rip out? Is that a possibility? I am conflicted about this whole thing, but one thing is for certain: Zane is totally nuts.
