After Casey Anthony's surprise acquittal yesterday for the 2008 murder of daughter Caylee, the warrior wailers of CNN-HLN asked, How could a jury let this "lying, no-good slut" off the hook?

In an interview with ABC's Nightline, juror No. 3 Jennifer Ford says they had no choice. Unlike Nancy Grace, she had to judge the case on its merits:

I did not say she was innocent. I just said there was not enough evidence. IIf you cannot prove what the crime was, you cannot determine what the punishment should be.

Everyone wonders why we didn't speak to the media right away. It was because we were sick to our stomach to get that verdict. We were crying and not just the women. It was emotional and we weren't ready. We wanted to do it with integrity and not contribute to the sensationalism of the trial.

In the above video, alternate juror Russell Huekler (what a surname!) says he would have voted "not guilty," too. And he's an alternate juror, so he didn't even need to admit that to anyone, particularly to the mob of angry mommies destined to tear his house down with pitchforks tonight. Come to think of it, someone should check if Russell Huekler is suicidal.

Nightline anchor Terry Moran says ABC didn't pay for the juror he interviews. TMZ reports that at least one juror is seeking a "mid 5-figures" payday for his tell-all. [ABC News]
