Mark Zuckerberg's Foe Is Losing His Allies
When nearly everyone thinks you're a con artist, it helps to have credible friends at your side. Paul Ceglia, the would be owner of Facebook, will have to do without such support; he's reportedly just plowed through his fourth law firm.
Edelson McGuire, who took Ceglia's case less than a month ago, has withdrawn, according to Liz Gannes at All Things Digital. The firm follows in the footsteps of DLA Piper, Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman, and Connors and Vilardo, all of whom have stepped down as Ceglia's counsel over the past four months, leaving him to make a federal case for Facebook with just two independent attorneys. Edelson's departure coincides with a recent profile of Ceglia in the Buffalo News, in which neighbors and former chums derided the internet entrepreneur as a con artist. In other words, it's looking increasingly like those damning purported emails from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to Ceglia were fake. Not that we ever put it past a guy with a felony drug conviction and grand larceny arrest like Ceglia's.
