Because so many people are snapping their own photos of the Pittsburgh production and putting them on the internet, Warner Bros. has gone ahead and released an official photo of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. And it's bad?

I mean, whatever, it's just a photo, but she's wearing old person Solar Shield sunglasses and looks really awkward on her unibike or whatever we're calling that vehicle for weirdos. Actually, the awkwardness of this photo (and these unofficial photos!) speaks to a bigger problem within Christopher Nolan's Batman world. It's so grim and serious and real-life-y (well, at least relatively speaking, compared to Tim Burton's goth circus and Joel Schumacher's drag queen funeral) that when Nolan does, by necessity, have to throw in the Batmanish elements, like weirdo unibikes for weirdos and Catwoman BluBlockers, it just looks so silly and atonal. Know what I'm sayin'?

But anyway, again, this is just one photo (or several photos) and we should not judge it and more importantly not let silly unibikes and retirement shades distract us from the fact that Anne Hathaway will make a terrible Catwoman no matter what.
