There aren't too many things that offend us here at Gawker, so when something does offend us, it's pretty serious. This week we're banning someone who dared to use the F-word. No, not "fuck." The other F-word.

There are commenters who do do all sorts of annoying little things that piss us off and we let most of it slide, but we cannot abide racism or homophobia. That's why this week ubercutie is getting the boot for posting "What a fag" about Anderson Cooper's on-air laughing fit.

Now, we call Anderson gay all the time (because he is) and, yes, his laughing jag was a little girly, but that's no reason to go dropping the F-bomb around like it's something funny. And that's kinda the most offensive thing about this comment—it's boring, unoriginal, and completely uninspired. We'll forgive almost anything mean as long as it's funny. This was not funny, and it wasn't just mean, it was hateful.

We won't be giving comments like this a public execution in the future. Going forward, if you see someone being blithely racist, homophobic, or otherwise hateful, just email us and the person will be banned right away. Now that we got the serious stuff out of the way, we'll go back to banning people for just being annoying.

A Few Notes & How to Submit Nominations

All decisions about commenter executions are final. There is no appeal, though bribery is sometimes acceptable depending on the severity of the offense and the amount of the bribe. Executed commenters may be allowed back after a suitable period of exile.

Because this process is to better the community, citizen's arrests for unruly commenters are welcome and encouraged. Executions can be based on a single incident or general and prolonged suckiness. Please submit your nominations to executions@gawker.com.

Please include your rationale for execution and a link to the specific comment (you can get the direct link by clicking on the comment's time stamp) for evidence.
