NBC has pulled the plug on The Playboy Club after last night's episode only attracted about 3.2 million viewers. It was the first show from the fall season to get the ax. Like we didn't see that coming.

The show will be replaced by Brian Williams' Rock Center, which is a newsmagazine and not a comment on the rigidity of the news anchor's heart, and is scheduled to start on October 31. Until then NBC will air reruns of Prime Suspect on Monday nights. This is definitely a vote of confidence in the American version of this show, which isn't half bad. Still, being replaced by sloppy seconds is rough, but it should be something Hef's girls know a little something about.
