Hey, look, essayist and This American Life contributor Jon Ronson made a documentary about Rebecca Black and "Friday." It's actually really fun, with a funny cameo from Benni Cinkle aka That Girl In Pink.

Our old buddy Patrice Wilson is there, too; he makes Ronson a song in a single night, which he describes as "a bit of Vanilla Ice mixed up with Craig David." Wilson's rep emailed us a while ago that he was no longer with Ark Music Factory, so it seems he's got a lot of time on his hands. Rebecca Black is notably absent from the video—guess she blew up too big for Internet Land.

Ah, "Friday." The wacky viral music video scene was so fresh and innocent earlier this year, before Lance Bass' abominable new boy band sullied it with that shameless Facebook song. [via Videogum]
