Oprah-Approved Guru Gets Two Years for Sweat Lodge Deaths
Remember James Arthur Ray, the Oprah-endorsed "guru" who hosted a sweat lodge "vision quest" that caused the deaths of three people and "vomit everywhere"? The one overheard stating "It's a good day to die" while people literally died in front of him?
He has been sentenced to three two-year sentences for the reckless endangerment that caused the deaths. The sentences will run concurrently. "The case is bound for appeal" because Ray's lawyers demanded retrial or mistrial no fewer than nine times over the course of trial. [AP, image of Ray in court via AP]
