Here's Mitt Romney's first television ad! It is fantastic, in the sense that it manages to encapsulate, in the span of one minute, the entire Romney "brand": boring, wrong, nonspecific and slightly dishonest. (It's not so fantastic in the "at all engaging to watch" sense.)

As ThinkProgress points out, that soundbite of Obama saying "if we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose" is actually a soundbite of Obama quoting a McCain advisor. That's slightly dishonest! But not quite dishonest enough to make the ad interesting. (Not, say, Newt Gingrich levels of dishonesty.) Nope: it's just 30 vague seconds of "Obama scary" and 30 even vaguer seconds of "Mitt inspiring." What would make the ad interesting: 60 seconds of that creepy final photo, with no voiceover.
