Remember when we freaked out because we thought Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were engaged? Well, they're not. And how irresponsible of anyone to spread that internet rumor. Ahem.

TMZ reports that Miley is baffled by the engagement rumors. (Maybe don't flaunt a ring on your ring finger?) Today Miley took to Twitter to set the record straight herself.

I'm not engaged. I've worn this same ring on this finger since November! People just wanna find something to tal about! It's a topaz people!

OK, fine, our mistake. Give us something else to "tal" about then. There's too much horrible shit going on in the world right now to not let ourselves be distracted by frivolous celebrity gossip.
