Netflix Plans to Make Entire New Season of Arrested Development Available for Streaming on Same Day
Speaking with reporters yesterday at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos confrimed the company's plan to release all 10 episodes of Arrested Development's highly anticipated fourth season at the same time.
Sarandos didn't provide an exact date, but the revived series is expected to debut early next year.
Show creator Mitch Hurwirz, who also spoke yesterday, revealed new details about what the new season has in store for the Bluth family. "Because everybody is on separate shows, we had this idea to do kind of an anthology series and meet the characters, where they have been, one at a time," told panel attendees. "That is evolving into the old show again, even though the concept is slightly different."
He went on to confirm the return of Scott Baio's character, Bob Loblaw, but not much else.
Leaving them wanting more, Hurwitz hinted at the possibility that the fourth season could open up the door to an order for additional episodes. "We would love this to be the first first of many visits," he said.
