Not Dark Enough: 'Dark Horse' Is Your Grandmother's Todd Solondz
Dark Horse, Todd Solondz latest festival circuit circler, gets its first official trailer.
The film is ostensibly about a 30-something guy named Abe (Jordan Gelber) who proposes to a failed academic named Miranda (Selma Blair) despite still living at home with his parents (Christopher Walken and Mia Farrow).
Being a Solondz film, one might expect something horrible to happen midway through the film, but early reviews suggest this really is as lighthearted as it seems. Even at its darkest, Dark Horse isn't "pungent or provocative, just ugly," says Variety's Justin Chang.
In other words, if you're in the market for a Solondz film you can take your grandma to, this might be it.
A limited release has been set for June 8th.
