Conan Opens First Letterman Appearance in 13 Years with Jay Leno Impression
Visiting his Late Night predecessor David Letterman for the first time since 1999, talk show host Conan O'Brien took the opportunity to discuss the infamous Tonight Show debacle with a man who knows a thing or two about Tonight Show debacles.
"I was delighted by everything that happened — except you losing your job," Letterman said. "The only consolation I took during that period was that you were happy," Conan retorted.
Letterman did have some nice things to say about his arch-rival, noting that he thought Leno was "always...the funniest guy," but also "a bit of a brat."
On a more positive note, Conan remarked that he was "thrilled" about how the ordeal ended. "It worked out," he said. "I'm a lucky person."
