Gretchen Carlson Exits Fox & Friends in Protest of Brian Kilmeade's Chauvinism
On today's Fox & Friends, co-host Brian Kilmeade made a decidedly unfriendly remark that caused Gretchen Carlson to get up and leave the set.
"Women are everywhere," Kilmeade remarked in response to learning that the U.S. Navy Band began allowing women to join its ranks in 1980. "We're letting them play golf and tennis now. It's out of control."
Carlson, unwilling to take Kilmeade's tone, retorted by exiting stage right. "You know what," she told Kilmeade, "you read the headlines, since men are so great."
Rather than apologize to Carlson, a clearly nonplussed Kilmeade instead told the audience, "she needed a shower."
