Olsens Unveil New $16,900 Backpack Crafted from Old Coonskin Caps They Dyed with Kool-Aid
If you are barefoot and poor and couldn't afford to buy the Olsen Twins' infamous $39,000 crocodile backpack from their label The Row before it sold out last year, I knew there was a reason we weren't friends.
Also good news, indigent: MK&A have just unveiled a new Adult Backpack even your broke ass can afford. It only costs $16,900 so you'll have plenty of wooden nickels left over to buy off-brand soda and non-Band-Aid adhesive bandages.
Pictured above is the "multi patchwork fur" version of the bag, which appears to incorporate the pelts of numerous rare troll dolls and stuffed animals. The backpack is also available in "black shiny calf skin," "black alligator," and "slate shiny alligator," for the non-Harajuku girl consumer.
Stylist Rachel Zoe is most excited about the fur incarnation, though. She discussed her "personal predilection" for it in a blog post on her website Tuesday, using that and other perfectly natural-sounding turns of phrase.
Pretty in patchwork, The Row's posh pack combines comfort and class. The fuzzy texture on this nifty knapsack is also a fashion favorite. Perfect for pre-fall, it's never too soon to start thinking ahead for your next season's staple! Our personal predilection is towards this amazing accessory.
Zoe also links to a vaguely similar Fossil backpack available at Macy's for $198. I guess the idea is that you buy that $198 backpack as some sort of toy for your real $16,900 backpack? Or maybe as padding so that your nifty knapsack always looks funkily full?
It's not clear.
