Improv legend Fred Willard couldn't come up with an impromptu reason for his penis being out when LAPD vice squad officers busted him last night inside Hollywood's infamous Tiki Theater.

The 72-year-old, who is best known for his recurring appearances in the films of Christopher Guest, was taken into custody and booked on a charge of lewd conduct.

According to Cinema Treasures, Tiki Theatre "is the only theatre showing straight porn in the greater metropolitan Los Angeles area" since the Sunset Pussycat Theatre was shuttered in 2003.

Willard didn't spend much time behind bars: He was reportedly released only a short time after booking.

TMZ facetiously notes that Willard may have been doing research for his upcoming film, The Yank.
