NBC Taps Ann Curry to Host The Today Show This Weekend Because Tragedy Is Her Forte
Just weeks after The Today Show booted Ann Curry off its couch because she wasn't good at chitchatting with the fun, popular kids, the show, realizing no one on its current roster is capable of manifesting gravitas, has come crawling back to her.
NBC has announced that both Curry and her replacement Savannah Guthrie will co-host the weekend edition of Today from Aurora, Colorado this Saturday and Sunday.
The network also announced on Twitter that Curry will anchor a special edition of Dateline live from Aurora on Friday evening and appear on Friday's episode of The NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.
Following Curry's abrupt departure from her regular position at Today earlier this month, it was revealed she would remain an "anchor-at-large" for the program.
