As families of the Aurora shooting victims have been notified, some of the victims' names and stories have been released.

Alex Sullivan, 27, was celebrating his 27th birthday. The "Happy Birthday" card in the photo above was left in his memory.

Veronica Moser, 6, was shot alongside her mother, 25-year-old Ashley Moser. Ashley, who is slipping in and out of consciousness, does not know that her daughter has died.

Matt McQuinn, 27, died in an attempt to shield his girlfriend, 27-year-old Samantha Yowler, from bullets. She was shot in the knee but survived, as did her brother, 32-year-old Nick Yowler.

Jessica Ghawi, 24, was an aspiring sports journalist. As other outlets reported yesterday, her last blog entry was her account of narrowly avoiding a gunman who shot seven people at a Toronto food court.

Micayla Medek, 23, was a student at the Community College of Aurora.

AJ Boik, age unknown, was a student at Gateway High School.

John Larimer, 27, was a sailor with the U.S. Navy.

Rebecca Wingo, 32, was identified by her father in a Facebook post. He wrote, "I lost my daughter yesterday to a mad man, my grief right now is inconsolable, I hear she died instantly, without pain, however the pain is unbearable."

The four other victims have not yet been publicly identified.
