Chick-fil-A Rival Plans to Donate Portion of Proceeds to Pro-Marriage-Equality Group
In a bid to lure Chick-fil-A's pro-gay clientele away from the controversial fast-food chain, New York-based eatery Schnipper's Quality Kitchen has announced plans to donate a portion of its proceeds throughout the month of August to benefit marriage equality.
$1 from every purchase of Schnipper's Chicken Filet Sandwich will be donated to Marriage Equality USA — "a non-profit whose mission is to secure legally recognized civil marriage equality for all."
On its Facebook page, Schnipper's writes: "A truly good Chicken Filet Sandwich would always be in favor of Marriage Equality." Concerning the fairly naked ploy, a Joe My God reader writes: "I will take pandering over condemnation any day of the week."
There are currently two Schnipper's locations in New York: In the Flatiron District and inside the New York Times building.
