Last weekend we published Kiese Laymon's personal history of violence in America. In July, we also ran Cord Jefferson's essay about moving from New York to Los Angeles and Ali Waller's essay about her brief brush with lesbianism.

We're going to continue this series, and Laymon has agreed to oversee the project. (He'll also be contributing to Gawker as his schedule allows.) If you're interested in seeing a particular author's work or type of essay in this space, email saturdays@gawker.com.
