Everybody's going to be crying when Oprah's new interview with Rihanna airs later this week. Rihanna's going to be crying. Oprah's going to be crying. The balmy Barbados breeze is going to be crying. We're going to be crying.

To give everyone a taste of the salty tears, Oprah has just released a promo clip for Sunday's episode of Oprah's Next Chapter. The interview was conducted on Rihanna's own cream-colored couch, in front of a window that opens up onto a beautiful screensaver.

In the video, a crying Rihanna tells Oprah that she felt protective of Chris Brown after he was arrested for beating her in 2009.

"I felt protective, like ‘The only person they hate right now is him.'…As angry as I was—angry and hurt and betrayed—I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help. And who's gonna help him? Nobody's gonna say ‘He needs help.' Everybody's gonna say 'He's a monster' without looking at the source. I was more concerned about him."

Everybody did think that Chris Brown, a noted monster, was a monster after that happened. But only until we missed him at the Grammy's.

Oprah, herself no stranger to emotional interview guests, describes the singer as "vahrry emotional" in a different promo featuring a different scene of Rihanna crying. She also notes that Rihanna is a surprisingly good driver.
