Look no one's saying President Obama is responsible for 9/11, but his detractors are saying some other things of questionable logic.

The facts are these: Barack Obama has attended fewer than half of his daily intelligence briefings. George W. Bush almost never missed his daily intelligent meeting. Is it any wonder Bush was so much more successful than Obama at anticipating critical threats to the country?

Wait, that's not right.

And therein lies the problem with this criticism of Obama: it requires very bad short-term memory.

Dick Cheney, whom you might remember as the Vice President in office when 9/11 happened, also decried Obama's failure to pay attention.

If President Obama were participating in his intelligence briefings on a regular basis then perhaps he would understand why people are so offended at his efforts to take sole credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden. Those who deserve the credit are the men and women in our military and intelligence communities who worked for many years to track him down. They are the ones who deserve the thanks of a grateful nation.

If this is the attack you want to wage on Obama, you should probably explain why Bush's gold-star attendance of his daily briefings didn't actually prevent 9/11.

The White House points out that while Obama does not attend every presidential daily brief (PDB), he "reads his PDB every day." Pfft. I bet he totally skims.
