Who's Predicting This Year's Post-Election Riots?
A lot of people, it turns out. America's 236-year streak of successful, peaceful transitions of power from one administration to the next is about to be broken, because come Election Day 2012, no matter who wins, this country is going to break out into Riot City.
From Info Wars, the world's leading authority on the Amero, via the Drudge Report (your number-one clearinghouse for scaring old white people): "Will the most divisive campaign in modern American history culminate in massive riots in our major cities?" Conditions are certainly "ripe for it," the article claims, since Americans are "very angry and frustrated right now." More angry and frustrated than during every other election in recent history? More angry and frustrated than they are, say, tired and hungry? Yes:
Keep your ears open for phrases such as "voter fraud" and "election fraud" following this election. People are so angry already that even allegations that someone stole the election could be enough to set the streets of America on fire. As always, let us hope for the best, but let us also prepare for the worst.
From the U.K.'s The Daily Squib:
"If Obama wins, you're going to get some seriously pissed off people, if Romney wins you're going to get some pretty pissed off people," a citizen of Philadelphia [said]."
The Squib went on to ask some tough questions of an equally anonymous Los Angeles resident.
How come Homeland Security recently purchased literally tonnes of ammunition. America is a tinderbox of weaponry waiting to go off. "You can smell the gasoline in the air, all it will take is one spark and then we got gun city on our ass. We're talking fireworks here that will be able to be viewed from space," a Los Angeles resident told local news stations.
(Update: The Squib is a satire publication, which makes it only slightly more fictional than Infowars.)
That's Gun City and Riot City we're up to, for those of you keeping score at home.
The people at Chicago Now have started polling future voters-turned-looters:
On November 07, the day after, if your man does not win, will you riot? Will you protest? Will you support law suits in a very close race? Will you riot if Obama loses? Will you riot if Romney loses?
And Before It's News keeps their prediction simple, with a video titled simply: Obama Re-elected, Riots, US Nuked, FEMA Camps: "The World Will Change and Never Be the Same." Because that's what change means.
