Jersey Shore Cast Trying Their Best To Help Out Hurricane Relief Efforts
Snooki and her trusty gang are lending their spray tanned hands to help out New Jersey in the aftermath of this week's storm. Snooki tweeted this morning, "Cleaning my closet today to donate clothes and whatever I can do the victims affected by sandy! I'm comin with clothes!!!!"
Spikey-haired darling, DJ Pauly D, tweeted that today was "Jerzday" and started the hashtag #restoretheshore. Vinny also said that he gave money to the Red Cross via text message.
MTV also issued a statement to the Examiner explaining what they plan to do about the devistation:
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by the hurricane, especially our friends and business owners in Seaside Heights, NJ who are now part of the MTV family. MTV is actively exploring ways to best help with the recovery efforts, and in the meantime we are encouraging everyone to donate to the American Red Cross' disaster relief efforts.
Radar Online is claiming that MTV is trying to organize a benefit special for Seaside Heights hosted by the cast. Their "show insider" claimed that MTV producers concerned with recruiting the male members of the cast to join the show, especially The Situation (he would, right?).
This is the best possible thing that the cast can do in this situation. The show has long been criticized by New Jersey residents, especially by Governor Chris Christie, for giving the Shore a bad reputation. Now's a time that they can use their celebrity, even if it's just Twitter celebrity, to help the cities that they brought to the nation's attention.
Hopefully all that time at the gym gave them the muscles to help rebuild the boardwalk.
