Nicki Minaj Discusses Possibly Fake American Idol Feud with Mariah Carey, Sounds Almost Reasonable

Nicki Minaj's nonstop commercial/reality show Nicki Minaj: My Truth addressed the pop star/rapper's supposed beef with fellow American Idol judge Mariah Carey during its second episode last night. According to Nicki, she "reached her boiling point" after being "egged on" by Carey and "storm[ing] off" the set. She returned to receive "another jab" from Carey, and that is when she unleashed her rant, which was filmed and then posted on TMZ.
In the clip above, she discusses the following chapter in the saga: When Barbara Walters reported on The View, that Carey told her many people had heard Nicki threaten her life with gun violence. Nicki's wrong about Walters calling her "unpredictable" (Walters specifically notes that she's quoting), but right for pointing out that it's unfair that she wasn't contacted for a comment. "Am I not good enough for you to get my side? 'Cause I'm a little black girl that raps? 'Cause if I was J.Lo, you woulda called," says Nicki.
Nicki says diplomatic things about sharing the panel with Carey, noting that Carey hasn't extended the same courtesy, which was the first public sign of discord on this Idol judging panel. As Vulture's Amanda Dobbins noted when this was reported in August, "Mariah Carey reportedly 'hung up the phone when she was told Nicki was the candidate,' because she was expecting to be the only woman on the panel. This is probably not true; it also sounds a little true." Yes indeed. Just like on any reality show. Real Popstars, coming in January...
