Marriage Equality Opponent Explains to Minnesota Lawmakers How Vaginas Repel AIDS, While Gay Anal Sex Causes It
Nothing brings 'em out like public hearings on the topic of same-sex marriage, and today's legislative committee hearings in Minnesota were no exceptions.
Speaking before the State House was one Mike Frey, a "concerned Minnesotan and father and a husband," who appears to be under the tragically ignorant impression that A) only married people have sex, B) unprotected vaginal sex cannot transmit HIV because the vagina has a "barrier" that protects it from such diseases, and C) the mere act of unprotected anal sex (which only gay men have) causes AIDS.
When ejaculation occurs inside of a colon it is a highly absorbent material, the cells do not have a barrier for the sperm and those enzymes to enter into the bloodflow. When the enzymes enter into the bloodflow and a continued, prolonged, um, environment to that happens these enzymes into bloodflow it causes what we know as AIDS — acquired immune deficiency syndrome. AIDS of course brings on common diseases, colds and things, and it magnifies them to a point where it's unhealthy. Not only does it strengthen the disease within the carrier of AIDS — the person that has a destroyed immune system — but it also strengthens the disease that can be spread to the society at large.
His proof that gays pose a higher health risk that straights? An outbreak of community-acquired MRSA in California from a few years back. CA-MRSA of course being an equal-opportunity skin infection that targets athletes and people in the military as much as it does gay men.
As amusing as Frey's laughable misconceptions about anatomy, biology, and homosexuality might be, they also offer a sad reminder that there are far too many marriage equality opponents just like him who believe the same stupid things he does.
