Avril Lavigne and the guy from Nickelback got married this weekend in France at a location so undisclosed, not even the invited guests could rip the clothes off that location and discover where it was the day before they were due to be there.

That's a little weird, right? Avril Lavigne and the guy from Nickelback are pretty much just regular, non-famous people at this point. They're "grandchild featured in long-running local car commercial" famous. They're "Is that you hugging a giant Reese's Peanut Butter Cup on the cover of the Hershey Park brochure?" famous. Now that you know the wedding happened, are you desperate to see pictures of it? Probably not, unless you just happen to love weddings, in which case: click. Why all the secrecy, Avril Lavigne? Nick Elback?

Since we're already talking about it, the ceremony ended up taking place in Mandelieu, near Cannes. No pictures were sent because it was #avril wedding.

(Those are from the CEO of the talent agency that reps her.)

For the record, Avril Lavigne, 28, and the guy from Nickelback, 38, didn't just have a wedding. They had "a wedding weekend" except that the "weekend" actually included a Monday (the day of the actual ceremony), and continued through 6 a.m. Tuesday so really what they had was "a wedding half-week." E! quoted a "wedding source" who described Avril's love of France in the most obnoxious way possible.

"[Avril] picked Cannes because she's spent significant time in Paris in the past few years and summered in places like St. Tropez. She's very immersed in French food, ambiance and culture. It's her favorite place to be."

Lavigne previously explained that planning the wedding was a breeze because the guy from Nickleback wanted her to do whatever she wanted.

"Chad is on board with all my ideas. He knows that I have my own vision for the wedding and he likes what I like. He's down with whatever I'm down with. We have a lot in common, so it's been easier."

And said that her favorite thing about the guy from Nickelback was Avril Lavigne.

"He's very romantic and very attentive. He's a really nice and a good person. And he's very supportive of my music and my career, and that means a lot to me."

The couple became engaged last August after dating for six months. It is the first wedding for the guy from Nickelback and the second for Lavigne, who was previously married to Deryck Whibley of Sum 41.
