Yusaf Mack’s story just got a little more insane. The professional boxer, who alleged last week that he was drugged during for his performance in a gay porn video for DawgPoundUSA, just appeared on TMZ Live, apparently at the request of his crisis manager Anthony Cherry (who’s also a hairstylist and singer). Beaming in via Skype, Mack refused to answer virtually every question he was asked, claiming that he couldn’t talk about his porn video because it’s a “legal matter.”

Mack said repeatedly that he wanted to talk about his life right now, but then didn’t do that either. He claims he’s written a book, and that everything about his porn ordeal will be in it. When asked how he was able to turn around a book on such short notice, Mack replied, “As soon as I heard about [the porn controversy], I started writing the book.”

Earlier today, an unconfirmed report originating at Black Sports Online claimed that Mack had released a statement, in which he came out as bisexual and admitted that he had lied about being drugged. That site as well as many others that picked up the story, which had no attributed source*, reasoned that this was in response to DawgPoundUSA’s statement to Gawker that read in part: “We intend to take all legal steps necessary to protect our good name and reputation against these patently false and preposterous claims.” Mack made no mention of the statement or his sexuality on TMZ Live. Interestingly, the statement concludes by saying, “To all of my supporters I thank you dearly. For all other media outlets please contact my consultant Anthony Cherry.”

*Note, I contacted Black Sports Online editor Robert Littal, and he told me the statement the site ran came from Cherry. At 6:41 today, Cherry responded to a Facebook message I sent him, telling me, “The statement is true.”
