Evangelical conservative radio personality Bryan J. Fischer is a batshit sound-bite machine for the Lord. And he would like you to know how much he loves black men, even if you can't compute that in your "black heart."

Fischer—an "issues director" for the American Family Association—celebrated National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on his radio show today by lamenting how the human immunodeficiency virus was "decimating" the black male population—a "black genocide," as he put it. Right Wing Watch transcribed what followed in his touching, loving, touching, loving, touching comments:

If you care about black people, and we do...it's the people who do not care about the health of black males that are all for the normalization of homosexuality... Let me put it bluntly. If you are for the legalization of homosexuality, you are for the acceptability of homosexuality, you are for the normalization of homosexuality, you do not care about black males. You have no compassion in your black heart for black males because they're being decimated by HIV/AIDS... So why am I opposed to the normalization of homosexual behavior? Because I love black males. I want black males to live long, prosperous, healthy, disease-free lives."

Yes, there's a missing assumption here: The assumption that homosexuality explains the high incidence of HIV/AIDS among black men, and that its criminalization would somehow solve the social-policy problem posed therein.

But the heart wants what it wants, and Fischer's black heart apparently wants healthy black cocks. Just not in a gay way.
