Opal Covey, a woman who identifies as a prophetess, is currently running for the mayor of Toledo, Ohio, for the fifth time. She also identifies as a miracle worker—a political Annie Sullivan, if you will—and her platforms include ridding the city of potholes and building amusement parks. “That will bring great wealth,” she recently told NBC24 on the latter.

She also spoke in tongues while being interviewed. “Thank you Jesus—that was a confirmation,” she said after. Indeed! It confirmed everything I was thinking the second I heard her open her mouth. Thank you, Jesus, and thank you, Opal.

“God sent me to look upon the city of Toldeo,” she says. Jesus Christ, Toledo, what are you waiting for? Elect this woman.

Covey claims she actually won the 2013 election for mayor of Toledo, but her votes were stolen from her. “If people don’t give me what I earned in 2013 back and I’m not on that seat in November, then you’ll see God comin’ and visiting the city in the greatest destruction you’ve ever seen,” she prophesied.

So either Covey gets elected, or God comes for a visit. Either way, November is shaping up to be truly exciting. Covey just made the world a more thrilling place by making herself known. As a species, we are #blessed.
