Emma Watson's Friend at Graduation Was an Undercover Security Guard
In case you didn't see the selfie liked 'round the world, Emma Watson graduated from Brown University, where she started in 2009, on Sunday. At the ceremony, she sat with a friend who was also seen leaving as part of her small entourage.
But after Emma's companion shed her cap and gown, it was plain to see that she'd just been undercover as a graduating student: The gun, radio, and mace on her belt gave her away as a bodyguard.
But that's not to say that Watson didn't have any real friends at Brown. Although she took a year off, a rep said in 2011 that "Emma has enjoyed her time at Brown tremendously and made many friends there who she keeps in constant contact with."
"Many of the students at Brown, especially Emma's friends, were very protective of her. They tried to help her avoid the cameras that would occasionally follow her on campus," a source told Hollywood Life.
