If you can no longer gain national attention for your cause by illegally seizing a bird refuge and filling its environs with your poop, you might as well do this, I guess.

Shawna Cox—one of the original occupiers of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge—was released from police custody last month with a GPS bracelet, and is now facing a federal indictment for her role in the anti-governmental slog. According to a new court filing that hit the docket yesterday, Cox not only believes she is innocent, but that the U.S. government is guilty of doing the work of the devil.

Don’t take my word for it. She actually wrote this out and mailed it into court:

That explains the very specific damages being sought. Although it’s true that everyone hates the government and might refer to it as “totally freakin’ Satan” in a casual setting, such as some sort of bar and grille or perhaps while shooting pool and drinking a tall cold one, Cox’s case hinges on accused violations of the sovereignty of the Northwest Territories, which legally ceased to exist in 1803. It will be an uphill legal battle for Shawna Cox even if she is not seeking redress from Evil Incarnate.

You can read the full filing below.
