Geraldo Rivera Defends Roger Ailes by Comparing Him to Bear That Jumped Leonardo DiCaprio

On Tuesday, Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera took to social media to challenge allegations that CEO Roger Ailes sexually harassed former host Gretchen Carlson and six other women, likening his sometime boss’ personal demeanor to the bear that attacked Leonardo DiCaprio in that movie.
“I’ve known him for 40 years,” wrote Rivera on Twitter. “He’s about as flirty as the grizzly in #TheRevenant.”
I've known him 40 years. He's about as flirty as the grizzly in #TheRevenant. I stand with Roger Ailes

Rivera could have chosen a better analogy. In December, conservative blogger Matt Drudge famously mistook The Revenant’s brutal bear attack for a rape scene.
More troubling, however, is Rivera’s apparent belief that sexual harassment in the workplace is the product of flirtatiousness. And as an older fella with a mustache, it’s also possible that Rivera was unlikely to experience any of Ailes’ alleged advances. Just a thought!
