Groom Forgets Bride at Gas Station On Way Home from Honeymoon
A newly married man picked the worst possible time to forget his blushing bride at a filthy gas station in the middle of highway: On the way back from their honeymoon.
The German couple were driving home from celebrating their just-tied knots in France when they stopped near the central German town of Bad Hersfeld to gas up their van.
The woman, who had been napping in the backseat, got out to use the station's facilities — a fact her husband was apparently not made aware off until he got back in the car and drove 200 kilometers (125 miles) away.
"My first reaction was ‘is he daft’? I had no money or telephone with me," the bride later told a radio station.
She did eventually manage to contact the local police, as did the groom. Two-and-a-half hours later.
He was informed that his wife was waiting to be picked up. At the gas station. Where he left her. All alone.
