This is a little bit all over the place, but:
When I look at Bradley Manning, I think of how I want my child to be. I've always told my son that the only thing I don't want him to do for a living is to join the military. In the fact of unspeakable atrocity, what is the proper response? Bradley Manning tried to respond as a decent human being. He tried to uncover the unspeakable atrocity, most likely believing that the American public had a right to know what the government was doing on its behalf.
For this his life was ruined.
This makes me ashamed of my country.
