In Touch's tacky, photoshopped cover imagining former Kardashian keeper-up-with Bruce Jenner as a trans woman wasn't just created by adding some arbitrary stock-photo clothes and hair. BuzzFeed tracked down the original photo the magazine pasted over with Jenner's face—a shot of 67-year-old Dynasty actress Stephanie Beacham.
The lazy 'shoppers clone-tooled their fantasy female Bruce's hairline and added pancake makeup, but the rest is all Beacham.
On top of the obvious problems with the cover photo, which has been widely decried as transphobic, the story itself, about Jenner's alleged grand plan to come out publicly as a trans woman, also seems to be a steaming pile.
Notoriously unreliable HollywoodLife claims that In Touch's story revealed Jenner was courting The Advocate to cover his big transition announcement. It's not clear whether HollywoodLife or In Touch is the source of this bullshit, but it's clear that it's bullshit: The Advocate ran a story featuring trans activists calling the In Touch cover "sad," and included this statement from Advocate editor-in-chief Matthew Breen:
"I'm astounded that Bonnie Fuller's Hollywood Life would claim to have 'all the details' on Bruce Jenner's 'big magazine plans' because their story is a total fabrication — like InTouch's distressing Photoshopped cover. Neither publication has any insider source with knowledge of The Advocate's planned coverage."
Yesterday, Jenner's ex-wife, Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, also called out the apparently fabricated story, telling TMZ, "Bruce has never said he's going down the road to change his sex, but the cover reads that way."
