Jared Leto's Band Drops by the Kiev Demonstrations
Don't worry, Ukraine. Jared Leto's got this under control.
The actor/singer/dreamer dropped by Kiev's Independence Square Wednesday night to play a show with his band 30 Seconds to Mars, delivering on a promise he made in his Oscar acceptance speech: "To all the dreamers out there around the world watching this tonight, in places like the Ukraine and Venezuela, I want to say we are here."
"There's no price too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself," Leto told the crowd at the EuroMaidan before launching into "The Kill."
And lo, with a Leto-led chant of "glory to Ukraine," international tensions were alleviated and peace descended on Eastern Europe.
Actually, Ukraine's acting president said Wednesday he wouldn't use the country's military to oppose a Russian annexation of Crimea. Russian troops are reportedly gathering at the border ahead of Sunday's referendum on whether the region should join Russia or remain part of Ukraine.
Cool concert, though.
