Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ recently got some free press from Malia Obama, who took a photo wearing the shirt of his Pro Era movement. Pro Era posted the photo on Instagram after getting it from "a mutual friend of Malia and a Pro Era," and the White House reportedly launched an investigation into how it got out.

Bada$$ told Sway that the government has gotten pretty serious about looking into him, even tapping his phone and watching his home:

"My phone is tapped at the moment, yeah. When you have the leader of the free world's daughter wearing your shirts and all of that, I guess they start to investigate. They got my whole crib surrounded. I mean, I believe it. I don't sleep. I hear the clicks on my phone."

He added that he doesn't really have anything to hide, though: "My moms voted for Obama, so we ain't got no beef over here."

Bada$$ also clarified that he does know who Malia Obama is, contrary to some media reports (the same ones that called him an anti-police, anti-White Marxist, which he dismisses as weak "clickbait") and that what he actually said was that he didn't recognize her in the photo immediately.

He still can't talk about whether he punched that guy in Australia. Sorry.
